BatteRANGE: a variable commercial vehicle chassis

From the diesel engine to the fuel cell, from the motor coach to the semi-trailer truck: our modular chassis architecture makes it possible to configure the appropriate chassis for every application. To make this possible, the truck chassis is divided into three parts. The front section is made up of large cast parts with load path-optimised nodes which provide sufficient space for the integration of the independent wheel suspension. Furthermore, this also offers enough space for the integration of the drive train components. The energy storage device is accommodated in the scalable centre section. In the rear section, the axle combinations required are conventionally connected.

XR-RoboControl effectively trains your employees and at the same time closely examines robot programming. How? Mixed reality makes it possible.

07.01.2021 |

Robots have long been indispensable in modern production landscapes. Did you know that we have a cocktail party in the 1950s to thank for the invention of the industrial robot? Or to be more precise: the chance encounter there of the physicist Joseph Engelberger, who in his youth had devoured science fiction novels about robots, and the inventor George Devol? Back in 1961, the Unimate, as the two visionaries named their "baby", was already in use in the production lines at General Motors. From 1970 on, industrial robots also came into use in German car production. And even today, the ascent of the robot in production continues unabated. This makes it all the more important for optimal use to be made of these highly complex powerhouses, and for your staff to be thoroughly trained in how to handle them. FEYNSINN - an EDAG Group brand - once again merges the physical and virtual worlds to achieve this. But we have also gone one step further: we also teach the robot something new.

New mobility concepts have become more important than ever. For many people, urban traffic congestion is noticeable and a part of everyday life. Increasing emissions, noise, overcrowding, and above all - traffic jams. These are challenges that need to be solved.

In agile sprints to international standard: EDAG develops software for the model factory supply chain for Continental.

03.12.2020 |

By using new digital technologies, Industry 4.0 offers companies great potential which needs to be tapped to optimise processes and in this way increase efficiency. When it comes to the automation and networking of processes, therefore, robots play a major role in the factory of the future. For Continental, too, the Smart Factory is a future-oriented subject to which they committed themselves almost three years ago, with the "Model Plant" pilot project. With "Model Plant", the electronics plant at the Regensburg-based automotive supplier is researching and developing the standards for improvements, thus in effect becoming an enabler for the worldwide standardisation of plants and processes of the automotive locations. Special attention is being focussed on the digitalisation of the supply chain. EDAG Production Solutions' contribution to the successful realisation of the automatic sorting station for incoming goods was the software that was developed in-house. The approach we adopted in this project, however, was anything but standard.
